Boundary and ROW Projects

Arkwright Wind Farm

Chautauqua County, New York

Fisher Associates lead the civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, topographic and ALTA survey efforts, and subsurface gas line locations for this 80 MW proposed wind farm in western New York. Design challenges include steep terrain and significant wetlands. We were able to develop a constructible layout that kept the project under the Nationwide permit thresholds. The ALTA survey effort included over 80 parcels. Using subsurface line detection equipment, Fisher also identified and staked 32 miles of existing underground gas lines, then located the lines, valves, markers, wells and other gas line apparatus to “survey grade” accuracy using GPS and Total Station technologies. This information was later mapped and analyzed by the project engineers for design conflicts.

I-81, I-690 Mattydale, NYSDOT

Syracuse, New York

For this complex right of way project, Fisher determined highway boundaries and title ownership rights for 5.3 kilometers of I-81, Hiawatha Boulevard, Bear Street and a portion of the NYS Thruway, as well as, determined what agency or municipality had title or ownership rights to the individual highways. A detailed Right of Way Report was prepared describing all title and ownership rights for the project.

Services provided:

  • Right of way survey and mapping
  • Title/ownership determination

Lisle Flood Control Project

Village of Lisle, New York

Fisher Associates conducted a Boundary Retracement for approximately 2 miles of the Lisle Flood Control project along the Tioughnioga River and Dudley Creek. It included approximately 110 Permanent Easement and Fee parcels. Fisher’s tasks include establishment of primary GPS control, location of boundary evidence and topographic features, boundary research at appropriate municipal offices, analyses and computations of easement and boundary lines, preparation of a boundary map and proper staking of missing corners and points online.

Services provided:

  • Boundary survey and mapping

Sonnenberg Gardens Boundary Survey

Canandaugia, New York

Fisher Associates provided a "suburban class" boundary survey for the proposed acquisition of Sonnenberg Gardens by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. Fisher conducted title document research and reviews, established horizontal control throughout the site, prepared a boundary map, legal description of the boundary and a complete report of survey on how the control and boundary was established.

Services provided:

  • Topographic survey and mapping
  • Boundary survey and mapping
