Buffalo’s Office of Strategic Planning and Team, Including Fisher Associates, Win CNU Charter Award for Smart Streetscape Pilot Mobility Program

Congratulations to the City of Buffalo’s Office of Strategic Planning for receiving The Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU) Charter Award for the innovative Smart Streetscape Pilot Mobility Program.

The pilot project will reimagine a seven-block stretch of Washington Street, enhancing its public spaces. Improvements include curb extensions, protected bike lanes, enhanced crosswalks, street trees, permeable pavers, rebuilt sidewalks, and more. This initiative is transforming Buffalo’s streets by enhancing safety, accessibility, and sustainability and integrating smart technology and urban design, setting a new standard for city planning and mobility.

Fisher is proud to be a team member on this project that is creating a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly streetscape, making Buffalo’s streets smarter and more livable.
