Last night, the Victor Chamber of Commerce held their Eighth Annual “Women of Excellence Awards” dinner to honor the passion, vision, and commitment of exemplary women in Victor, NY.  In recognition of Victor’s rich Native American roots, nominations were requested for women who demonstrate qualities of Jikohnsaseh (gi-GON-sa-she) who was a woman of great vision and wisdom, and a devoted leader of her people.  Awards were given in three categories: Student Promise Award – Role Model, Lantern Award – Volunteerism/Lifetime Achievement, and the Jikohnsaseh Professional Achievement Award.

Fisher is pleased to announce that Vice President / Director of Transportation Emily Smith, P.E. was the recipient of the Jikohnsaseh Professional Achievement Award.  This award honors a woman who lives and/or works in Victor who embodies the characteristics of Jikohnsaseh and has reached a level of professional achievement that is impressive and has contributed significantly to her chosen career field.  Emily was one of six nominees, and being selected for this award from such an accomplished group of candidates is a significant honor.  In all of her roles at Fisher, Emily has been instrumental in effecting positive change and growth.  Being a successful woman in a male-dominated industry, she serves as a role model for the young female engineers in our company and in the industry.  We are proud of this noteworthy recognition and to have her as a valuable member of our firm’s Leadership Team.

Fisher Associates congratulates all the exemplary women of Victor who were the recipients and nominees of these awards.  We celebrate their passion, dedication and contributions to their community.
