Monday’s groundbreaking ceremony at Lake Street Park marked a powerful milestone: the beginning of the renovation to Penn Yan’s premier downtown waterfront park. The project was supported by Penn Yan’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI)—part of a $10 million investment to energize the local economy, celebrate community identity, and improve access to Keuka Lake.
We’re proud to support the Village of Penn Yan in bringing this meaningful public space improvement to life. Led by our Landscape Architecture Studio, with support from our Environmental Team, the project will:
- Improve pedestrian circulation by providing universal accessibility throughout the park and equitable access to the waterfront
- Add a vibrant, inclusive playground for families
- Enhance waterfront experience with the addition of a new boat dock that includes seating and a flexible public event space
This initiative is more than infrastructure—it’s about connecting people to place, supporting tourism and local business, and enriching the daily lives of residents.
Fisher Associates was proudly represented at the event by Makenzie O’Rourke, RLA, James Fruechtl, RLA, ASLA, and Jimmy Lynch—key members of the team who helped shape this space with care and intention.

A heartfelt thank you to our client, the Village of Penn Yan, for your continued trust. It’s been an honor to collaborate with Mayor MacKerchar, Director of Public Works Melissa Gerhardt, and City Hill Construction Inc. on a project that reflects the spirit and potential of this remarkable community.
