Utilized durable materials including bluestone, granite, and wood seating

Managed stormwater from 63,000 SF roof through bioretention and subsurface systems

Fisher Associates served as lead consultant for the rehabilitation of the North Quad at SUNY Oneonta, a central component of the Upper Campus Academic Core. The project reimagined the quad as a dynamic, multi-functional space that encourages social interaction and academic use. Redesigned pedestrian walkways connect surrounding academic buildings, while features such as curved wood benches, stone seating walls, and diverse plantings create inviting outdoor rooms for gathering and instruction. Durable materials including bluestone and granite were selected for longevity and reduced maintenance. Sustainable design elements were incorporated by redirecting runoff from a 63,000-square-foot roof into bioretention systems and subsurface storage, reducing stormwater impacts.
