The State University of New York (SUNY) Buffalo’s campus lacked a defined outdoor hub for student activity and pedestrian flow. Fisher Associates transformed a transitional space into a coherent plaza that balances heavy pedestrian traffic with social gathering opportunities. Circulation, seating, and landscape elements were arranged to create a durable, intuitive, and flexible environment. The Paula Agrusa Plaza enhances campus life, encourages lingering and interaction, and strengthens campus identity, ensuring outdoor spaces support both daily routines and special events.
