Chemung Sidewalk Improvement Project

The majority of the streets in the Town of Chemung did not have any sidewalks, forcing pedestrians to share the road with vehicles. This project included installing sidewalks throughout the entire Hamlet area within the Town of Chemung. Extensive design coordination was required to fit the sidewalks into the existing roadside and tie grading into neighboring properties, minimizing impacts to the residents. Other design considerations included maintaining existing drainage patterns, tree removals, signing and striping, and the design of a low height segmental block retaining wall system.
