Project Story

The Headwaters Wind Farm is a two-phase project along the Indiana/Ohio border.  Headwaters I consists of 100 Vestas V110 2 MW wind turbines and Headwaters II consists of 30 Vestas V110 2.2 MW wind turbines.

Headwaters I was designed, permitted, and constructed in an accelerated time frame to qualify for PTC funding and to meet the schedule of the signed PPA. The project design needed to be extremely flexible as progress on land leasing moved in parallel with design. Multiple layouts and collection design were progressed in parallel to ensure a viable project, including alternates, was always available to the development team. Fisher Associates provided permitting for the County and DOT as well as SWPPP permitting. Our team provided transportation plan and routing and bridge and culvert inventory analysis for the delivery of the wind turbines as well as support throughout the construction phase of the project.

Headwaters II was a continuation of the services and support of the Headwaters I project, again with challenging deadlines and rolling plan submittals to support the development and construction efforts.
