Nestled along the serene shores of Cayuga Lake Inlet, Ithaca College embarked on a transformative initiative to propel its rowing program to new heights. Fisher Associates led the charge in realizing the College’s vision for a state-of-the-art Rowing Center.

Fisher Associates spearheaded the integration of the College’s aspirations, the design team’s expertise, and the regulatory intricacies of the city planning department. Through meticulous site planning and design, Fisher ensured the boathouse’s prominence on the Inlet while accommodating all necessary uses and setbacks.

Central to the site plan is a versatile plaza area, seamlessly blending social gatherings, boat maneuvering, and emergency vehicle access. Sustainability takes center stage with a porous asphalt parking lot, preserving the natural beauty of mature trees while mitigating erosion through a pioneering vegetated shoreline stabilization system.

Recognizing the importance of accessibility, Fisher’s ingenuity extends to the Cayuga Waterfront Trail, with a whimsical nautical-themed bike rack welcoming athletes and the public alike.
In the tranquil waters of Cayuga Lake, the Ithaca College Rowing Center stands as a beacon of excellence—a testament to Fisher Associates’ unwavering commitment to innovation, sustainability, and community enrichment.
