Project Story
Fisher Associates was selected by the Town of Amherst for preliminary design, final design, bidding & award, construction administration, resident inspection and post construction phases for a watermain replacement project within the Town of Amherst. This project encompasses designing approximately 3,025 LF of 8-inch watermain, associated hydrants, services and appurtenances along the majority of two stretches of North Forest Road. The first stretch is approximately from the intersection of North Forest and Noel Drive to the intersection of North Forest and Maple Road. The second stretch is approximately from the intersection of North Forest Road and Millersport Highway to the intersection of North Forest Road and Stahl Road. The project required several bores crossing North Forest Road.
Fisher Associates performed horizontal and vertical alignment of the 8” Ductile Iron Watermain, calculated restraint joint lengths, thrust block sizes, spaced fire hydrants at optimal locations, and designed initial and final interconnections to the existing system. Fisher also provided construction administration and residential construction inspection for the project. As part of the inspection, scour velocities, pressure, and bacteriological testing was observed and documented for ECWA and DOH approvals.
