Project Story
The sanitary sewer connection between Attica Correctional Facility/Wyoming County Correctional Facility and the Village of Attica was replaced to eliminate problems with the sewer line. Fisher was retained by the New York State Office of General Services (NYS OGS) on behalf of New York State Department of Corrections and Community Services (NYS DOCCS) to provide SWPPP inspections during the sewer replacement project.
Fisher observed the project for compliance with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) stormwater control measures and proper erosion control measures. The project also required environmental monitoring due to the number of state and federal wetlands that it traversed through. The monitoring would limit the disturbance to the wetlands and would ensure that the wetlands were properly restored upon completion of the project.
Through field visits, our Stormwater Management team completed inspections to ensure regulatory permit compliance. In conjunction with the SWPPP inspections, our team provided environmental permit compliance inspections. Through weekly reports and regular communication with the client, Fisher was able to ensure that the main sanitary sewer line for the Wyoming/Attica Correctional Facility was in compliance with all environmental regulations.
