Project Story
SUNY Binghamton University added a newly constructed 36,500 square foot Smart Energy Research and Development Building to the campus. Built next to the Center of Excellence, on the corner of Vestal Parkway and Murray Hill Road, the +/- 10-acre site is now the home of the Chemistry and Physics Department’s research and teaching facilities and boasts a LEED Gold certification. Fisher provided survey and site, utility, grading, and landscape design services for the project.
The project included new sidewalks, parking lots, a water fountain feature, stairways, retaining walls, utilities, and an additional drive entrance. It also included comprehensive coordination including utility locating services, and design for water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, greywater repurposing system, electric / communications, and gas. Work also included preparing an as-built record survey, and construction administration services for multiple phases of the project.
