Project Story
Fisher Associates was engaged by TDS Telecommunications, Inc., a national provider of broadband infrastructure and services, to support several grants submitted to the Empire State Development Corporation to introduce high-speed broadband infrastructure to underserved rural communities in Upstate New York. The project included the overhead and underground installation of hundreds of miles of broadband cable within various right-of-way throughout the project areas. To facilitate TDS’ grant applications, Fisher supported the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) process on behalf of both TDS as the applicant and Empire State Development as the Lead Agency for the project. Fisher Associates provided a full range of SEQRA support services for the project including preparation of full environmental assessment forms and supporting documentation including supplemental narratives and mapping, consultation with involved agencies regarding project-related impacts, impact analyses including assessment of natural and historic resources and associated assistance with filings and determinations of significance.
