Fisher Associates completed permitting and design services associated with the Clarkson Solar Electricity Generating Project located in the Town of Potsdam. We were also required to develop a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) in accordance with the NYSDEC standards.
This 200 MW wind farm outside Indianapolis, Indiana was designed, permitted, and constructed in an accelerated time frame to qualify for PTC funding and to meet the schedule of the signed PPA. The project design needed to be extremely flexible as progress on land leasing moved in parallel with design. Multiple layouts and collection design were progressed in parallel to ensure a viable project, including alternates, was always available to the development team.
Total of 200 MW between Phases I, II & III with the 99 MW Phase II designed, permitted, bid, and constructed in short order to obtain ARRA funding. Design was completed in less than 3 months and the DOT permit was obtained in less than one week.
The Jericho Rise Wind Farm is an 80 MW wind farm including 37 wind turbine covering 6,600 acres in the towns of Bellmont and Chateaugay in Franklin County, New York. This project had a fast track schedule and multiple teams were mobilized to complete the design.
The Amazon Wind Farm U.S. East (formerly known as the Desert Wind project), is the first utility-scale wind farm in North Carolina, and one of the first in the southeastern U.S. The project is located in Perquimans and Pasquotank counties, in a rural section of northeastern North Carolina near Elizabeth City and Hertford.
The first phase of the project has been constructed with 104 wind turbines. The project also ranges from a few feet to a maximum of 14 feet above sea level making the drainage and stormwater design particularly challenging. We created a GIS program that automated production of over 1,500 temporary and permanent wetland impact figures. What would have typically taken weeks, took days. This saved the client both time and money.
Fisher Associates has been involved in the permitting of small scale wind turbines throughout Central and Western New York. The turbines are typically installed in agricultural districts to offset energy costs for farming activities. The turbines range from 5Kw to 50Kw each.
The Copenhagen Wind Farm is an 80-MW wind farm in northern New York that includes 40 turbines through a mix of farm fields and forested areas. Construction has begun and it scheduled for completion in 2018. The project area included a significant amount of wetlands and the project design needed to balance the wetland impacts with landowner desires and NYS Ag & Markets concerns.
Fisher Associates is completing critical environmental/permit analyses, constraint analyses, optimized access roads, collection corridor layout, drainage design, transportation plans, and preliminary engineering drawings for a large US developer. The owner is using these plans to better estimate project construction costs, identify permitting challenges, and to direct efforts regarding land acquisition.
