What you can’t see can hurt your project.
Knowing where underground utilities exist is critical to minimizing utility conflicts and avoiding utility relocations which can often result in project delays and unwanted costs. Our surveyors work diligently to capture the locations of visible above and below ground utility features associated with a variety of utilities such as storm and sanitary sewers, water, electric, natural gas, steam, communications, signal poles and wires, and light poles. Our surveyors then obtain records from the various utility companies so that record plan information can be carefully cross checked and anchored to physical features found in the field. When records contradict with our field data, we seek to resolve these contradictions to confirm the locations of utilities. This can include requesting the utility company do test pits to ascertain the location of utilities or partnering with our trusted subconsultants to perform Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) to locate underground utilities. Through our diligence in locating and mapping utilities, and resolving any conflicting information, we ensure there are no unwanted surprises during construction so you project stays on schedule and within budget.
